The Patchwork House Throw
A patchwork of ginghams, checks and quiet neutral cloths, layered over undyed cheesecloth and put together with kantha, the traditional running stitch that gives the surface its soft, gently quilted texture and lets the whole thing breathe. The palette stays in warm, earthy tones, sand, taupe, soft brown and creams, the sort of mix that has the lived-in look of bedding handed down rather than bought new.
Turn it over and there is a second life to it, a plain reverse in a soft sandy cream, so you have two looks in one, depending on which way you fold it back.
We love items that have multiple use like the the patchwork house throw. Bundle up on sofa and use as a blanket, or lay across a bed as a lightweight quilt through the warmer months, then layered in as the nights draw in. The sizing is ideal for double to super king.
Lovely with a strong check, like the Logan lumbar cushion or set against something floral, like the Betsy frill cushion for contrast.

FAQS
What is kantha?
Kantha is a traditional running-stitch technique in which layers of cloth are quilted together by hand with rows of fine stitching. It's what gives this throw its soft, lightly puckered surface and its supple, breathable feel.
Can it be used both ways?
Yes. The patchwork front and the plain sandy-cream reverse give you two looks in one — turn it whichever way suits the room, or fold it back to show a little of both.
Is it warm enough for winter?
On its own it's light, which makes it ideal over a bed in the warmer months. As the nights draw in, it layers beautifully under or over heavier bedding to build up the warmth.
Will every throw look the same?
No two are quite alike. Because the patchwork is pieced and stitched by hand, the arrangement of checks and the run of the stitching vary a little from one to the next, the mark of handmade.
